Beef and Flock Club Visits Black Ven Farm

Farmers seated on straw bales and chairs in a timber-framed barn at Black Ven Farm listening to two Fairfield House vets giving a talk

Last week, Fairfield House Vets’ Beef and Flock Club met at Black Ven Farm for an evening of farm health updates and a guided tour, followed by a few beers and sausage casserole.

Topics included an update on the bluetongue virus situation, biosecurity, and the latest thinking on parasites in sheep, with an enlightening talk on worms from Carolyn Hogan of Elanco. Lisa also introduced us to her farm animals and shared her approach to regenerative farming.

Our thanks to Lisa and the Black Ven Farm team for their warm hospitality, to Carolyn for sharing her expertise, and to everyone who attended. It was a very enjoyable evening.
