An Evening of Stories and Veterinary History with Kirsty

On Friday evening, our Senior Partner Kirsty delivered an engaging and entertaining talk to members of the Small Farm Training Group (SFTG).

With over 30 years of veterinary experience, Kirsty took attendees on a journey through more than 70 years of practice history. Blending stories from the past with her own first-hand experiences, she brought the evolution of veterinary medicine to life—complete with plenty of humour along the way.

Guests also had the opportunity to see some of the historic tools and medicines once used in everyday veterinary work. From unusual instruments to long-retired treatments, it was a fascinating reminder of just how far the profession has come.

The Small Farm Training Group is a non-profit organisation based in Sussex, with members across Surrey and Kent. They provide valuable opportunities for those passionate about the countryside to learn new skills, share experiences and develop practical knowledge—covering topics from animal husbandry and land management to traditional crafts.

It was a fantastic evening filled with learning, laughter and shared enthusiasm for rural life.

We’re incredibly proud to have such a wealth of experience within our team, and it was wonderful to see Kirsty sharing her knowledge with the wider farming community.
