With the nights getting colder, some of our smaller furry companions may find it a little chilly spending the night outdoors.
Rabbits and Guinea pigs can struggle to keep warm overnight at this time of year. So here are a few handy tips to make sure they don’t feel the cold:
- Bring hutches indoors/ into a garage during cold spells
- Provide more bedding material to allow them to make a warm nest
- Consider covering hutches if unable to bring indoors (uncover during the day to allow proper ventilation)
- Clean out hutches regularly to ensure bedding isn’t wet
